Wallace Berrie Bought the Applause Company,
a Division of Knickerbocker Toys, in 1982.
the Whole Business Was Later Renamed Applause Inc.
the Avanti Line First Introduced by Wallace Berrie Was Continued
by Applause in a Smaller Number of Colors and Sizes.
the Avanti Line Was Designed by Riccardo Chiavetta of Jocky Rome.
Wallace Berrie Acquired the World Marketing Rights in 1982.
Extremely Cuddly the Bears Are Reminiscent of Those Made by Aux Nations,
Where Chiavetta Had Worked Previously.
